Everything tastes better when infused with lavender. There is nothing better for a hot, humid day than a lavender-laced iced beverage. Not only will you be feeling freshly energized (courtesy of the caffeine), but you will also feel cool and comfy thanks to this iced sweet treat.

We at Lets Matcha are heaping praise unto HungerThirstPlay for this incredibly simple and delicious recipe!

Iced Matcha Lavender Latte (image h/t HungerThirstPlay)
Prep time: 5 min.             Cook time: 10 min.             Total time: 15 min.

Ingredients (latte):
  • 1 ½ tsp matcha powder
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp lavender simple syrup
  • ¾ cup milk (dairy, almond, coconut, macadamia, even a blend…it is up to you)

Ingredients (lavender syrup):
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 5-8 sprigs of fresh lavender OR 2 tsp dried lavender

Instructions:
  1. Prepare the lavender syrup. Combine the sugar, water, and lavender in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 2 minutes, cut the heat, and let steep for 5 minutes
  2. Whisk the matcha. Combine the matcha powder with 1 tbsp of hot water in a bowl. Whisk with a matcha whisk (preferably, but you can still use a metal whisk) until a thick paste forms. Add 2 more tbsp of water, one at a time and whisking throughout to avoid clumping. Pour the resulting concoction into a glass.
  3. Build the latte. Stir in 1 tbsp of lavender syrup and fill the glass with ice. Add in a milk of your choosing, swirl together, and enjoy!
